Shot from above by VistaVue just off Sunset Bay, this is Cape Arago as most people never see it.

Perched alone on the basalt cliffs, the lighthouse watches where the Pacific crashes into the Oregon coast. You can see the whole story in one frame: the long spine of the headland, the golden cliffs dropping 100 feet to the surf, the hidden cove on the south side, and that little white tower holding its ground.

This is a 3-panel canvas triptych. When hung together with a small gap between panels, the image flows across the wall like you're standing on the edge yourself. The aerial perspective shows the scale you can't get from the trail - the waves breaking on both sides, the texture of the cliffs, the isolation.

Captured on a clear late summer morning when the light was raking across the point.

This is Coos Bay's lighthouse. Not the tourist shot from the parking lot. This is what it feels like to fly here.
